Introduction:
Partnered with a cross-functional team to launch Coursera’s enterprise website. This project covered the full lifecycle—from early discovery and strategic planning to design, build, and ongoing optimization. Efforts focused on aligning user needs with business objectives, developing a clear value proposition for enterprise clients, and ensuring the platform could scale with the department’s evolving goals.
Problem:
As a leader in the field of digital learning, Coursera sought to expand its reach to include businesses seeking educational solutions for their employees. What was needed was a customer-focused website to serve as a magnet for new businesses, showcasing Coursera’s corporate-focused courses and certifications.
Process:
The Business team was relying on a basic CRM landing page to attract B2B clients—an approach that no longer matched the department’s growth or ambition. With a limited budget, a lean cross-functional team was assembled to explore a scalable solution. The mandate: assess audience needs, test demand, and lay the foundation for a full enterprise web presence aligned with Coursera’s long-term strategy.
- Scoping and Ideation: Actively participated in early-stage meetings to help choose a platform that would allow stakeholders to adapt easily to a startup environment.
- Design Support: Provided UX design support for web components to fit within the Coursera style guide and brand, including course titles, pricing tables, landing pages, and conversion forms.
- Responsive Design: Responsible for all front-end responsive design and building a site that worked flawlessly on all devices.
- Optimization for Conversion: Optimized user forms and landing pages to improve conversion rates.
- Data Integration: Reviewed data analytics to improve performance and worked with SEO teams to improve the site's visibility.
Transformation:
The project was a great success and helped transform the department. In the words of the Head of Global Enterprise Marketing at Coursera, the new website took the department "from 1 to 100." The platform has opened new doors for businesses seeking high-quality educational solutions, and with ongoing refinements and expansions, the future looks promising for Coursera and its enterprise clients.
