Introduction:
Partnered with Kalamuna and the Environmental Defense Fund to deliver designs for a global social media hub supporting small-scale fisheries. The platform connected individuals, communities, and entrepreneurs to share knowledge, improve industry practices, and advance environmental sustainability. From concept through execution, the work helped enable stronger networks and measurable impact in coastal communities worldwide.
Problem:
The Environmental Defense Fund recognized the urgent need to empower and connect individuals and entrepreneurs. This project aimed to provide a platform that would facilitate collaboration, information sharing, and the improvement of industry practices, ultimately contributing to the preservation of aquatic ecosystems.
Process:
Worked with the agency and The Environmental Defense Fund to design a social media hub supporting small-scale fisheries around the world. Conducted stakeholder interviews and contributed across the full design process—from initial ideation to production-ready, high-resolution designs—helping connect global fishing communities and advance environmental goals.
- Stakeholder Interviews: Conducted insightful stakeholder interviews to understand the project's objectives and the unique needs of small-scale fisheries.
- Collaborative Design: Working closely with the creative director and the design team, participated in several UX activities, including journey maps, content maps, and deriving user insights.
- Wireframe Designs: Crafted wireframe designs that laid the foundation for the platform's interface, focusing on user-friendliness and accessibility.
